Packing for a cruise should be as easy as a sea breeze.
What you regularly wear to the beach, around a pool, walking
around town, dining out or going to a fancy cocktail party
are the same things you'll need for a cruise. Traditional
cruise lines usually have one formal night on a 3-4 day
cruise, 2 formal nights on a 7-day cruise, and 3 formal
nights on a 10-day or more cruise.
You can expect to have The Dress Code is casual during
the day and while on shore. Shorts and t-shirts are
fine, even in the dining room. For the “formal
nights” men often wear tuxedos, but dark suits
have become more common. It's a little harder to determine
what women should wear. Cocktail dresses (long or short)
seem to be the trend on "dress-up" nights.
Ladies certainly have more flexibility than the men
do. For the other nights, standard dress for men and
women ranges from business casual to "Sunday best."
